HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Programme
Description – In order to combat the prevalence and
spread of the HIV//AIDS infection, several initiatives will be
implemented related to Prevention, Treatment and Care, Advocacy,
surveillance and research of AIDS to facilitate the continued operations
of the National AIDS Coordinating Committee.
The Project will result in improved access to medication, treatment
and care for persons with HIV/AIDS infections. Rehabilitation of health
facilities including the National Blood Transfusion Service, the Public
Health Laboratory and the Queen’s Park Counseling Clinic and Centre will
also be undertaken.
Estimated Cost – TT 117 million dollars
Executing Agency – National AIDS Coordinating Committee (NACC)
Time Frame for Completion – 2008
Status – Programmes and initiatives under this Project are currently
being implemented by the NACC
