The Ministry of Planning and Development has taken the process of transforming the nation of Trinidad and Tobago into a developed nation by the year 2020 one step further with the formulation of the Vision 2020 Operational Plan. 2007-2010. 

This Operational Plan will be used to guide the course of national development over the next four years. This is a ground-breaking achievement. It represents the first time that an attempt has been made to link all the stages of the planning process from vision and goals through to targets programmes and projects. It signals the commencement of a new approach to developing medium-term policy solutions that have the greatest development impacts. 

To ensure that the process sustainable, Government has taken steps to put in place effective institutional arrangements to manage and evaluate the implementation of the Operational plan. A Programme Management Office has been established in the Ministry of Planning and Development to guide and manage all Vision 2020 activities in the public sector.

The Ministry of Planning and Development and those who have worked tirelessly to prepare this plan is pleased to present to the national community the Vision 2020 Operational Plan 2007-2010.
